2008 has not been a good year for stocks. As of today, June 16, both the Dow and the S&P 500 are down substantially from the start of the year. It is not hard to find stocks that have been severely battered. Below is a list of depressed stocks that meet the following criteria:
- Market cap of at least $1 million
- Maximum P/E ratio of 5
- A drop in price of at least 50%
- Maximum price to book ratio of 1
There are 34 stocks in the list, sorted by price change. Most of these are small caps, but there are a few giants such as Lehman Brothers, and Barclays. Could anyone imagine a year ago that Lehman Brothers would be on this list? How quickly things can change.
